O’Neal Webster hires Chris McKenzie to further strengthen Private Client Team

The firm is pleased to confirm that Christopher McKenzie TEP MA (Oxon) will be joining O’Neal Webster as a Partner of our private client practice from 1st May 2013.

Chris is highly recommended by clients, peers and industry ranking bodies alike and has a broad range of skills and experience in all aspects of BVI laws relating to trusts, wills and estates. Previously, Chris worked at leading London firms before moving to the BVI in 1996, his most recent position being Head of Trusts and Estates at Walkers’ BVI office. He has been described by the Chambers Global guide as to be praised for being ‘extremely responsive and user friendly’ and by the Legal500 as ‘very knowledgeable’.

Chris is founding chairman of BVI Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners (STEP) and is currently chair of STEP’s Caribbean and Latin America Region. He chaired the committee (which is now chaired by O’Neal Webster partner Vanessa King who is also the current chair of STEP BVI), the proposals of which led to the enactment of the BVI’s highly acclaimed VISTA trust legislation and its innovative and popular regulations enabling exempt private trust companies to be set up. He has contributed numerous leading industry publications and has an outstanding reputation as an industry expert in his field.
